Oh joy, the fun of having a child in daycare fulltime. Henry has Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease, and though it was something I have utterly dreaded after hearing horror stories about, I’m so fucking thankful that his case is mild. It started with a low fever for a few days, and then turned into a rash on his bottom. I was a little concerned, but then his daycare provider messaged me and told me that 3 other kids had HFM. Shit. That’s when it was confirmed.
So far, he’s almost a week from when the fever started and he hasn’t had any actual blisters on his hands, feet, or mouth. I call shenanigans on that deceiving name. He’s fussier than usual, but he’s also trying to bite me nonstop so I’m pretty sure some new teethers are popping in. (We have 4 now, if you’re keeping track like I am).
He can’t go to daycare for like a week though, so I’m trying to work AND take care of him, and it’s not only exhausting…it’s impossible. Kudos to anyone who can do it. Henry is all over everything nowadays, and I can’t take my eyes off of him for even a minute. So, I’m trying to cram all my work hours into his naptimes and after he’s in bed for the night. Which means I get no decompression and no time for house chores. #singlemomlife like whoa right now.
We’ll make it through, we always do. This too shall pass.---------------
