Today I am officially one year older, and it’s my Golden Birthday! I’m actually surprised at how many people don’t know what a golden birthday is, but it’s when you’re turning the same age as your birthday date. For example, I’m turning 29 today and it’s April 29th. Yeah, yeah, it’s a bigger deal when you’re a kid but I remember being little and always being disappointed that my golden birthday was so far away. Time sure does fly.
I don’t really have a whole lot of excitement planned. I’m working today so that’s already going to take some wind out of my sails, and I’m leaving for a 4-day business trip to San Francisco tomorrow so I need to spend a good amount of time packing tonight. I think the fiance and I will probably go out for some kind of nice dinner tonight, which I’m struggling with mentally because I don’t want to ‘cheat’ even though it’s my birthday. My willpower is steadfast! Thinking of trying to find some kind of healthier upscale option, but I’m not sure there’s a proper place like that. I’m also really sore today from my CrossFit session yesterday. Not a bad kind of sore, but the sore that makes you realize that you have muscles in places you didn’t even know about!
The scale is doing some loopy things to me right now, showing a number that’s quite a few pounds heavier than my low weight last week. I know that it’s probably water weight being retained from being on my Shark Week (TMI) and also from working out quite a bit yesterday. I didn’t cheat much at all this weekend and I definitely exercised to make up for it, so I know it’s just the typical yo-yo pattern that everyone sees. It would have been great to start my SF trip on an all-time low though!
I’m aiming to make my last year in the 20’s a great one, full of adventure and surprises and excitement.
