I read that after about a week on Paleo, that a lot of people end up feeling flu-like symptoms as their body transitions from using sugar & carbs for energy and starts burning fat instead. Well, I think I’m in that flu period now. Either that or I’m getting a real sickness, which I certainly hope not. Today I’ve felt run down all day long and even took a 3 hour nap tonight which barely helped me feel better. I ended up not going to my CrossFit session, but I hope to go tomorrow if I’m feeling better. I just need to drag myself out of the house and go and do it.
Today we had a wonderful trip to the Farmer’s Market, where all the vegetables and fruit looked seriously amazing. We bought a whole bountiful harvest of fresh local stuff and I’m excited to figure out meals this week that will work with the goods that we bought. I know we’re doing steaks & broccoli one night, lettuce wrap ‘tacos’, and some Italian sausage and peppers another night.
All in all, a good weekend, though it went by way too fast. I ate a ton of grapes tonight for dinner, which are sugary and carb heavy so I’m a bit worried about my scale value tomorrow morning but it should be a good week.
