2014 has been a year of ups and downs weight-wise for me. I haven’t really stuck with anything that I’ve committed to in terms of diets, and I’ve been going back and forth between trying different things and have overall had little success. Today is the day I’m starting new again, and I really want to try to commit to blogging as close to every day as possible. Even if it’s a short update of what I ate that day or my exercise habits. This will help me stay on track and be accountable. Even if no one reads this.
Last time I wrote, it was January and I was around 180 pounds. After that post, I had a month before my honeymoon to try to lose weight, and I ended up getting to about 175 pounds. My honeymoon was a week of pure bliss, eating/drinking all the things and generally putting aside any plans of being healthy. I ended up gaining all 5 pounds back. It’s so frustrating how long it takes to lose these pesky pounds but how quickly they end up coming back! I ended up ignoring the diet and got up to 184.2 in April, which is when my husband and friend and I decided to try going keto again. I dropped 12 pounds in a month, putting me at my LOWEST weight ever (172.2) on May 11th. I then went to a trip to Minnesota, cheated on the diet, came back home and gave up on keto and ended up gaining weight again.
So right now I’m 177.6. Lower than I was before I started keto this last time (thank god) but 5 pounds higher than my lowest weight this year. So I have some work to do. Today I’ve started back up on keto and I’m going to keep going until I get to 160 pounds. I don’t care what stands in the way. Even if I have to do occasional cheats, I will get right back on the wagon and continue plugging away. On one hand, I’m stick of concentrating about and thinking about my weight and diet every single day. But on the other hand, I know this is what I need to do if I want to be fit. Since I haven’t been exercising, my feet are killing me. I’m aching all over — particularly in my knees and ankles. I feel like I’m bloated every day and I have little energy to do things. Keto is the best way for me to lose weight quickly because I find it easier to limit WHAT I can eat rather than focus on calorie counting (which leads to my cheating on a regular basis).
I’m going to use my Starting Weight stats from the beginning of my entire journey, March 2013. It’s only been 15 months since I started this whole thing, and I think it’s important that I keep that into perspective.
Starting Weight: 214.4 (March 11, 2014)
Current Weight: 177.6 (June 9, 2014)
Total Weight Loss: 36.8 pounds in 1 year, 3 months---------------
