My goal this weekend was to cram as much activity into two days as possible apparently. It’s about 8pm on Sunday night and I’m just now sitting to relax after a whirlwind of fun today and yesterday. Phew! Friday night we got in at around 10:30pm so there wasn’t much time to do anything. We snuggled with our dogs in bed and got caught up on So You Think You Can Dance (team Ricky for life!) and passed out by midnight. It was nice to be back in our own bed again!
Saturday morning I woke up and headed down to the ranch to see Rosie. The weather was humid and warm (only 75 but the sun felt so hot) so I didn’t do a whole lot. I saddled her up and rode her in the arena for a bit — and she was GREAT! We have been struggling with getting our left lead but she took it for me on the second try and was calm and relaxed the whole time. After riding in the arena, I rode around the ranch to cool her off. She’s such a fantastic horse. Every time I ride her I find myself falling more in love, thinking about how lucky I am to have such a wonderful mare to love.
Saturday afternoon my friend and I headed down to San Diego Comic Con, which is always quite the spectacle. We went in for a couple of hours just to see the costumes and look for things to buy. I ended up getting an awesome art print that I really love, and bought a couple nerdy gifts for my husband. The costumes were absolutely out of this world! I am always so impressed by the level of detail and effort that goes into cosplay. Here’s a few photos I snagged from the con:
Saturday night we ate at Ranchos in North Park which has great vegan burritos and horchata! It was pretty tasty. We closed out the night by playing some League of Legends and then going to bed. Today I got up and went to spinning class early in the morning and burned 600 calories. It felt great, but my legs are still killing me from the adventure park, and my back was hurting from riding Rosie yesterday. Luke and I then headed to Whole Foods where I made a delicious vegan salad from the Whole Foods salad bar, which ended up costing me $17.00. Oops. I guess I shouldn’t have loaded up on the bean and quinoa salads. 🙂
Tonight we went to dinner with friends at Puesto in La Jolla, which ended up having four vegan friendly taco options. My favorite was one with avocados and cactus (nopales) and I thought it was great. Luke didn’t really enjoy it as much, but he also didn’t have a margarita like I did. 😉
All in all, a great weekend. Back to work tomorrow, and back to real life!
