Well, I should have called it. I posted about being eager to hit the gym more often, and then come down with a plague. This is the worst. I have a sore throat, cough, stuffy nose, aching sinuses, pounding head, and minor fever. And to make matters worse, I’m not actually ‘allowed’ to take any cold medicines right now — doctor’s orders. So, I’m suffering through it. Right now I’m supposed to be sleeping it off but instead I can’t sleep and I’m reading blogs and browsing the internet. At this rate, I should just be working. It’s so hard for me to disconnect and just rest. So here’s an update in my world:
^^ I’ve been playing a lot of World of Warcraft lately. My druid is level 100 and I’m finishing Nagrand and getting ready to start doing heroics. Working on my garrison, building that bad boy up so that I’m mostly self-sufficient. This latest expansion has been pretty spectacular and I’m having more fun in WoW than I have in years. ^^
I’m also hopelessly addicted to Candy Crush Soda Saga. Yeah, yeah, we don’t have to talk about that.
^^ I’ve never been a huge podcast fan, but since Serial has been sweeping the world and making a big impression, I decided to give it a go. I didn’t know much going in, but since I *love* true crime shows and documentaries, I’m really happy that I did. It’s a true story that unfolds each week about a guy named Adnan Syed who has been in prison for 15 years for murdering his ex-girlfriend in high school. He (and many others) still proclaim his innocence, and the podcast digs into the details of what really happened 15 years ago to try to figure out if he’s really innocent. It’s exceptional storytelling and truly riveting. I thought I was going to lose my mind when they took a break for Thanksgiving. Give it a listen! ^^
^^ Stemming from my love of Serial, I wanted to watch more crime mystery content. I was going back and forth between The Killing and Twin Peaks, and ended up picking The Killing because…well, I figured I’d watch both of them anyway and it was a 50/50 choice. So far, I’m super into it. It’s a little bit slow and the political stuff isn’t super interesting to me, but I *love* the main character (so great that they casted an average looking strong woman who is super vulnerable) and the character building has been great so far. I’m wrapped up in the mystery of figuring out who killed Rosie Larsen, and I’m happy that it’s finished so that I can marathon it without any season cliffhangers. ^^
^^ I saw the preview for season 7 of RuPaul’s Drag Race and realized I had never watched seasons 5 & 6, so I’m fixing that right now. I just love this show. It’s a lighthearted easy watch that I can keep on while doing other things (like working, or playing WoW) and it always makes me laugh. WERK IT MAMA ^^
Other shows I’ve been following pretty closely this fall season have been The Affair on Showtime, The Voice, Parts Unknown, Life with Lisa Ling, Rehab Addict, Snooki & Jwoww, and 90 Day Fiance. I know, I’m crazy.
