Today, as it rarely ever does in San Diego, the weather has ruined my plans for the day. Typically, Saturday is my lesson day but yesterday was Luke’s birthday so I moved my lesson to today. Alas, the sky is crying and the arenas are soaking and therefore my trainer sent me the dreaded text this morning: “No Lesson Today”. Oh well. In all honesty, I am kind of appreciating a lazy day at home.
I’ve wanted to blog more this week, but I was traveling to Los Angeles for work and didn’t get the chance. Not that there’s been that much to talk about in my life. Things have been rather boring. Actually, let me rephrase — there are a ton of developments happening in our life right now but unfortunately I can’t talk about any of them here yet. But rest assured, good stuff is coming in the future. =)
Luke’s 34th birthday was yesterday, and I tried to make it the best birthday I could without breaking the bank. I got the idea from another blogger to ask some of his friends to send me a little surprise recording of them wishing him a happy birthday. I compiled all of the videos together and played it for him on the TV and he said “it even gave me feelings”, which made me happy. I also commissioned a card for him, which is kind of an inside joke related to the Mass Effect video game. Basically, the drawing is of a Krogan from Mass Effect with our dog named Krogan’s head on the body. This was made by Ivonne at Beans + Ink, and I recommend you check out both her blog and her artwork. She’s awesome!
For food, we’ve been doing pretty well. We’ve actually both transitioned a bit into eating more vegetarian rather than strictly vegan, which I’m struggling with admitting here, but hell – what can ya do. We cook strictly vegan at home, but occasionally while we’re eating out at restaurants we are ordering vegetarian entrees instead of just vegan so that we can get a bigger variety of flavors. I don’t know what the future is of our dietary habits, but other things ™ are currently making me reevaluating my diet, nutrition, and fitness habits.
