Hoe-lee SHIET somehow I’m halfway through pregnancy. And all of a sudden, I have a gigantic belly and I feel more preggo than ever. It’s kind of crazy!
How far along: 20 weeks + 2 days. Just over halfway there!
How big is baby: Depending on the app, he’s either a Belgian Endive or a Mango. I’m going with mango because that’s a recognizable food that people actually know the size of! He’s apparently growing hair, has working ears, has a layer of vernix covering his body protecting his skin, can suck his thumb, and is practicing swallowing by peeing into his amniotic fluid and drinking it! How tasty.
Sleep: I’m doing ‘okay’ with sleep. I have had a bit of nighttime insomnia mixed with daytime exhaustion, but for the most part it’s not impacting my ability to be a productive human.
Maternity clothes: My saving grace. I’m exclusively wearing maternity pants now, and most of my former t-shirts no longer fit. My wardrobe is limited and I’m reluctant to spend a bunch of money on temporary stuff, so I’m wearing a lot of leggings, PJs, and maternity jeans and shorts. 🙂
How I am feeling: Pretty good. Some horrible acid reflux which I am taking Prevacid for, still occasional night nausea, short of breath a little bit and definitely lazy as all hell, but all is pretty well here nowadays.
Belly Growth: Formerly a size 14, now I’m pushing a size 18 again. My stomach is huge now. Friends are commenting that my belly has really popped lately and my husband comments about how pregnant I look all the time. I’m excited that it’s looking more like a baby now and not just blubber!
Still riding Rosie?: Sure am. I rode her yesterday and trotted/loped all over the place. I’m struggling a bit with the tacking up process – especially lifting the saddle and picking out hoofs/putting on boots. But the actual riding part is still wonderful. I need an assistant!
Movement: Flutters, which are sometimes gas and sometimes not. I’m looking forward to a few good kicks so I know he’s in there!
Food cravings: Sugar. Everything sugar. Boba tea, Starbucks chai lattes, cookies. Also pickles, bagels, tuna subs, Cocoa Pebbles.
Food aversions: Anything healthy. Thai food still. Anything really milky and warm.
Missing: Working out. Drinking espresso. Craft beer. Want to go ride rides at Disneyland.
What I’m looking forward to: Getting our house sold and getting into a new home so we can decorate the nursery!
